Bathroom wall design

Whether you’re building a new bathroom or rebuilding an existing one, a good wall design should be one of your top priorities. Deciding what materials to use for your bathroom walls is not an easy task. You have so many materials to choose from and the possibilities of combining design and pattern are practically endless. Now the question is: where to start?

Start by knowing your options for wall design. Tile has long been a popular choice for bathroom walls. It can be made of marble, limestone, vinyl, ceramic porcelain, granite, terracotta, terracotta, slate, stone and glass. Note the advantages and disadvantages of each and every type of tile has different effects on your bathroom.

For example, terracotta tiles get a wall that looks seasonal and rustic. It is also said to last a lifetime.

Marble tiles should be sealed like any other stone tile and need frequent cleaning. But when installed on specific parts of the wall, marble creates a unique shape.

Glass tiles are great if used as a decorative accent but are often expensive and difficult to install.

Vinyl tiles are cheaper than stone, porcelain or ceramic. It’s easy to install and easy to change. However, vinyl tiles create many seams that can grow mold, mildew and bacteria. Aesthetically, vinyl tiles are not your best option.

Granite is often used as kitchen counter tops but it is also good for bathroom wall accents especially if you want to highlight a particular wall. Granite is durable and can last a very long time.

Terrazzo tiles give unique beauty, elegance and longevity. However, using it as a wall design is quite expensive.

Concrete is another option you can take. The material is cheap but not for the installers themselves. Concrete can be painted with different colors of your choice so that you get the mood you want according to your design.

Select one or two materials above as the main wall and add one or two more. The key is to combine the right textures, ringtones and shades. For example, you can use natural stones such as marble, granite and limestone together. Marble and limestone glass can also work.

There is nothing worse than a bathroom with 4 empty walls. Design the wall to your liking.
