Blessings by Carla a lifelong dream for Sayler – Jamestown Sun.

Blessings by Carla opened in Warehouse West in 2020 and expanded in 2021. For owner Carla Sayler, it was the culmination of years of crafting and building a business out of her home.

“God’s perfect timing,” she said. “I have been praying about it for years and then that dream came true.”

Sayler was a full-time social worker who became a stay-at-home mom for 14 years. About 20 years ago, after her children were old enough to be in school, she decided she had a passion for crafting. She made all types of greeting cards and sold them at Plantation Coffee, Garden Gate and Wild Plum.

She worked at Style & Dezine Boutique and Handpick’d boutique in Jamestown and sold her items there as well.

“But I’ve always had the vision like, I want to one day have my own store,” Sayler said. “That was always a dream of mine. I was always crafting on the side of full-time employment. Always in the evenings crafting, getting stuff done. ”

Blessings by Carla features women’s clothing and gifts, including handcrafted florals, home decor, keepsake boxes and greeting cards. The boutique also carries other locally made soaps, jewelry and Belgian chocolate.

“I believe every woman can be beautiful no matter their size.”

“There’s not a lot of stuff here that is just something that I got from market,” Sayler said.

Sayler said special handcrafted floral orders are popular as are the workshops she also offers.

“It’s just evolved,” she said of her work. “It’s kind of like… once you quit your full-time job and you start to concentrate on what you’re all about and the gifts you have inside, all kinds of things have come out of me that I did not even know. I never even really did floral arrangements until I got my own business. And I just had time to play and to create, and I’ll have people just call and say, ‘Could you do this for me, could you make me a floral arrangement, these are the kind of flowers I want.’ ”

Women’s clothing was added to the business in 2021 and will be expanded this year, says owner Carla Sayler.

Sayler said she decided to add elegant and classy women’s clothing to the boutique in 2021 and is expanding that this year.

“I believe every woman can be beautiful no matter their size,” she said. “So it’s been fun to carry all the sizes. … I think people can be beautiful if they find clothes that fit them. Every size can be beautiful. And that’s my passion behind carrying clothing. I just want fun, beautiful, elegant clothing for every size, for every woman. Because I just believe every woman can be beautiful, every woman is beautiful. Size does not matter. ”

Sayler said the boutique’s customers come primarily from a 100-mile radius and added that having four businesses in Warehouse West is an advantage for all of them.

“… we’re all independently owned but we’re all in it together like a family,” she said. “And that’s really important to us. We all really get along, we all work together as a team yet we are independently owned. ”

Sayler said she gives “all the glory to God” for the opportunity to have the business.

“I’m really a woman of God, I really love the Lord and I really give credit to all that I have to God… it’s a dream come true that God made happen,” she said. I just did not know how I was ever going to pull it off. And then one day, God just lined up everything and it just worked out. ”
