Crushed concrete vs. conventional gravel

In the past, when structures were renovated or demolished, materials were disposed of in landfills. It took up a lot of space in the landfills, wasted resources, and wasted money on transportation. Recently, material recycling has become more popular as an alternative to waste.

Typically, concrete collected from demolition or renovation is sent by a machine that crushes it to a consistency like gravel. It can be used for many applications such as driveways, walkways, gardens and much more. It also has a series of advantages over more traditional materials.


Crushed limestone is a common rock used to make gravel for driveways and walkways. Depending on the size and source, the stones are sold by the ton, bag, or cubic yard of coverage. The effect of the environment

The use of recycled materials instead of new gravel reduces the need for gravel mining. This means that fewer machines burn fossil fuels for digging rock quarries, and less land is disturbed for new gravel.

Also, the use of recycled aggregates means that less water is used to make cement for driveways, walkways, etc. Less cement production means that by-products of waste will not go to landfill and will occupy more space.

In contrast, conventional materials such as limestone require heavy machinery mining to extract from the ground. This process usually kills trees and other vegetation in the ear area. The material then has to be transported from the mine site to the construction site.


Although some minerals and rocks need to be transported from areas where they are common, concrete is common everywhere where there are buildings. This means you should be able to find content quickly and easily wherever you are. Whatever supplier you choose must be local. This is because material prices are usually estimated with the assumption that the buyer will bear the burden. Companies usually charge extra for shipping it themselves and this increases the cost of forwarding.
