However, there are ways to increase your chances of selling without losing too much to the seller. Below is a list of seven tips for successfully selling a home in a slow market.

1) Appearance is key. When buying a home, the buyer will naturally strive for homes that are beautiful in appearance. Fixer-upppers are no longer as popular as they once were. The first thing a salesperson should do is fix anything that might catch the attention of a potential buyer. For example, your yard should always look impeccable. If the gutters in the house are drooping, this will be the first thing people will notice. If your house has chipped paint, paint it over. Giving your property the ability to limit your appeal is worth the money spent.

2) Be flexible – be prepared to run out of money on weekends for a realtor to show you around. Always keep everything in order in case of any recent appointments made by potential buyers. Try not to limit the time you are willing to grant access to the house.

3) Keep your home at market value. If you are stuck thinking about making big money selling your home, chances are your home will be on the market for years. The best way to ward off potential buyers is to list your home for sale at a price higher than the market price. Keeping a home for sale at a reasonable market price means there will be more interest to come to the open house, which will increase your chances of a sale. 7) Offer incentives to potential buyers. When a buyer is interested in buying your home but wants you to lower the price, try using other incentives instead. For example, you might offer to pay a buyer for the costs of closing a deal. This is always tempting for buyers as it will save them money by allowing them to get more money for their down payment. Some vendors choose to add home appliances such as a refrigerator, dishwasher, or washer / dryer.

In the buyer’s market, the seller must be creative in finding a way to move his property. Making a sale is not always easy, but with a little effort it can still be done quite successfully.
