The Kinsey House in Mullica Hill Offers Eclectic Home and Garden Decor in a Beautiful Setting

The Kinsey House opened recently in Mullica Hill NJ, and it is a beautiful Home and Garden decor store, offering an ever changing variety of products which they describe as eclectic… you’ll realize it all “just fits” perfectly.

With the weather turning nice, a visit to the Kinsey House should be a part of a fun weekend afternoon which includes a visit to the nearby upgraded Naples restaurant, the Heritage Winery, Pitman’s Milkweed or more!

The Kinsey House Mullica Hill – Constructed in 1819!

The location is just off of Main Street at 19 Woodland Ave. The former home traces its roots back to 1819, and it sets a perfect stage for the products that are displayed over 3 floors and the separate Carriage House.

They even offer snacks and beverages, also with an “eclectic” twist!

Mark from 42Freeway first visited the Kinsey house in the colder months and was so impressed by the place, he came back with his wife and daughter.

If home décor is your thing (or even if it’s not), the Kinsey House is one of those places you could visit over and over again, and each time find something new to grab your attention.

Our last visit was actually many weeks ago (my apologies Kinsey House for the delay!) And the photos you see here are from that visit… and I would bet that what they have in the store today has already changed with additional Spring and Summer items .

So read on for more on the Kinsey House, check out our photos, and at the bottom I include a video on the Kinsey House that was put together by Nancy Kowalik where she interviews Kinsey House one of the owners, Justin.

… See something you have not seen every day. one of a kind things that you can find for every single person in your family, and I guarantee you, you will find something you like!

The Kinsey House – 1819

The Kinsey House is owned by Mother and Son team Gina and Justin, who live in the Mullica Hill area.

Have you visited the beautiful South Jersey Cinder Bar restaurants, and really appreciated the design and décor there? Well Gina and her husband Bob Ciconte own the Cinder Bar restaurants… which put Justin and Gina in the driver seat for those design elements!

So it makes sense that the Mother and Son team would want to extend that experience into a beautiful décor store!

Display bathroom adorned with fragrances, soaps and more .. all for sale at The Kinsey House Mullica Hill

The Kinsey House was initially constructed in 1819, and it still packs all of that 19th century charm and styling even with some modern upgrades.

The building is two floors, plus a basement… which required significant upgrades in the basement to make it a usable retail space.

The main building has two first floor additions including a glass side sunroom which houses the register area, as well as a snack and beverage area.

There are two other buildings on the property, and the one “Carriage House” building closest to the store also features a variety of items for sale so do not forget to visit!

Well to be clear… literally everything is for sale!

And it does not stop there, as the grounds have been upgraded to present an outdoor cafe or winery feel to it. Grab a coffee of beverage in the Kinsey House and hang out for a bit!

Justin has told us they have plans for organized events at the property, utilizing the spacious back yard.

The rear yard offers several areas to hangout! This photo is from February but soon the plants and flowers will be blooming!

The Tour

As mentioned, Mark from 42Freeway visited twice! The first time was after the holiday season when they were still switching out from holiday decor to the spring… so we decided I’d come back. And that second trip I brought the family.

Living Room, or Showroom? How about both ?! The Kinsey House Mullica Hill

In both visits it was Justin at the helm, who did an amazing job of describing to us the theme of the rooms, and the direction they are taking with product selection.

Justin is clearly talented in this world of home décor, and his passion for décor, design and the plans for the Kinsey House store is… well he just can not hide it! We all really enjoyed chatting with Justin and learning about the business.

The exterior of the Kinsey House fits perfectly with what you are going to see on the inside.

It’s an early 19th construction farmhouse, that the owner’s have done an amazing job in upgrading with modern conveniences but still keeping that old-world charm.

A children’s bedroom decorated as one would expect, but everything is available for purchase! The Kinsey House Mullica Hill

The parking lot is on the right side, with a beautiful old blue pickup truck out front. You’ll also note the Carriage House.

To enter tho… use the side back patio entrance which takes you immediately into a room filled with interesting items to look at!

That first look is .. wow, they have a lot of cool things here but it’s far from cluttered.

Which leads me to my point of while it’s not a very large home / store (as you would expect from a 19th century farmhouse), there is a surprisingly large amount of things to see .. and buy!

Every room in the house is now a show room. It all fits like a house, but it’s all for sale.

“Oh wow, there is another room here!”

“Oh hon, come here did you see this?”

“Wait what? there is more downstairs? And another building in the yard? ”

It’s just a really well designed use of the space.

The separate Carriage House also features interesting items for sale! The Kinsey House Mullica Hill

From the entry room you head into a space which was originally the kitchen and dining area, which now fittingly offers snacks and beverages.

To the right is the second addition to the house, a sunroom which features more products and the register.

Just explains that thought was put into smartly theming the rooms to match their original uses.

The kid’s bedrooms feature children’s decor.

The product mix for the bathroom includes soaps and fragrances.

The basement has been made into a speakeasy theme, offering decor for your home bar, and even mixers for drinks.

A lot of work went into making the basement a usable showroom space, and Justin and Gina decided to go with a Speakeasy theme! The Kinsey House Mullica Hill

The separate Carriage House offers products with a Colonial Industrial design.

On it’s own the store makes the grade as a destination place, but as mentioned… there are plans to add events into the mix!

So it really is a visual experience and here I am writing on and on. How about we stop with the rambling, and just let the photos here give you a sample of The Kinsey House! The bonus is, when you visit you’ll find 100 other things to grab your interest!

The YouTube video from Nancy Kowalik interviewing Justin is linked down below. Nice job guys!
