Things to buy and do before you start painting

When a room is decorated using all the right tools, the end result can be amazing. Not only sound education but his alertness and dedication too are most required. This is a guide with a list of things to do before you start painting.

First of all, here are some tools you will need to purchase:

  • A ladder to help you get to higher ground safely.
  • Dust sheets are important for covering furniture and carpets, no matter how careful you are, the paint will peel off.
  • Buy a paint scraper to get a ride on any flaking or peeling areas.
  • Sand paper is needed to smooth out any uneven surface.
  • If you need to reach the paint in a narrow or small corner, then work with a triangular head scraper.
  • Use masking tape to protect windows and other trim and edges.
  • Buy rollers and trays for walls or you will be there for hours.
  • Get a standard paint brush (cheap won’t last long).
  • White spirits for cleaning brushes at the end of the day.

Now that you have your stuff, it’s time to make room for painting. Remove all furniture you can and put dust sheets on what is left.

Sand any uneven parts or rough edges so that the paint dries easily when applied. Tap all window and door frames that are close to the painted area to prevent excessive lapping. When applying paint, make sure it is in good light so that you do not see any dripping or thin spots. The most important thing is to give yourself plenty of time to finish the work, if you need to complete a large area, do not start late in the day.
